Ada Area Youth Services is a nonprofit organization that has provided services to
Pontotoc and Coal Counties since 1971.
The Ada Area Youth
Shelter is also housed within Ada Area Youth Services. The shelter provides 24 hour a day
emergency care for children, ages birth to 18, who have no alternative
living arrangements available.
The
mission of Ada Area Youth Services is to provide and promote a community based structured
process of emergency shelter care and community youth services to youth
and their families who have been identified as being in need of
assistance in adjusting to current life situations.
Our services
are designed for youths whose inability to function within educational
and social systems have caused concern for family, school, police, and
court officials. Many often display delinquent behavior or appear to be
headed toward delinquency.
Ada Area Youth Services is CARF accredited, certified by the Oklahoma Department of Mental
Health and Substance Abuse Services, licensed by the Oklahoma
Department of Human Services, and a member of the Oklahoma Association
of Youth Services.
